All About Doula Services By Jill
Who I Am
I've been a professional nanny in CT and NYC for over 15 years. I am a birth and postpartum doula based in Hartford County. I help people embark on their birthing & postpartum journeys by being their emotional support person. From prenatal check-ins to coming home with your new bundle of joy- I’ll be there for you every step of the way. Please reach out to learn more! I look forward to hearing from you, Mama!
Services
Please book through my booking section. All bookings must be approved to ensure availability.Pricing is subject to change and is higher during a holiday. Prices for postpartum services are PER HOUR. Thank you! (Please don’t hesitate to reach out to see about my sliding scale pricing for those in need.)
Prenatal and birth support
I offer unwavering support to you and your family before, during and after birth. I will stay in close contact in order to routinely check how you’re doing and step in with anything you might need. By offering birth support , my goal is to reduce any stress, allowing you to pay attention to your body and your baby. I will be your biggest advocate and ask the tough questions so you don’t have to. I bring comfort measures with me to make your experience as relaxing as possible. I will support you at any birthing location. Cesarean sections are supported, too!
Daytime Postpartum Care
During my postpartum care, I offer full support to you and your family after birth. Typically, I will visit a few times a week for up to 8 weeks for a minimum of 4 hours a day. During this time, I will take over so that you and your partner may rest! Services typically include: emotional support, feedings, breastfeeding support, meal preparation & cooking, light cleaning, nursery management, errands and sibling care. Your wish is my command, mama! If you don’t see what you need listed, please inquire!
Overnight Postpartum Care
Get some sleep, mama ( dada- you too)! Baby is in good hands while you two catch up on some much needed rest. I will arrive a little before bedtime, and we will have a chat about your needs. I will follow your lead on how and where you want baby to sleep. I will keep a watchful eye on them while they drift asleep and when they wake up; I will be here to comfort, change and feed ( if nursing- I will gently wake you, or pumped milk will be collected by me). A log will be kept of all things related to your little one. This service can be for as little or as long as you need. We can tailor this to fit your needs, and adjust along the way.
(It is required that the doula is allowed to sleep, she MUST wake up when baby needs her. )

FAQs
Answers to your Questions
Do you perform any physical examinations?
No. Doulas are NOT medical professionals. We are certified birth workers to help bring comfort and support to your birth and postpartum journey.
What are your interactions with medical staff like?
I respect all medical professionals and will stay out of their way. I will interact with them on your behalf to ask questions, voice your concerns, and to help you any way I can!
How will hiring you affect my partner’s role during the birth?
I would never want to get in the way of your partner! Think of me as an extension to your birth process. I will support you and your partner. This means, when your partner has to take a break & step out for a moment- you will never be alone. I will include your partner every step of the way to make this one of the most seamless and beautiful days of your lives.
